![]() (Press Release) PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – Thanks to the players and sponsors of its 12th Annual Better Ball Golf Tournament, Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches, Inc. raised a record $270,000 toward the agency’s mission to alleviate family homelessness in Palm Beach County. Held April 25 at The Park in West Palm Beach, the 2025 tournament was won by the foursome of Jeff Preston, Hampton Beebe, John Criddle, and Dave Abers. A talented 84-player field enjoyed lunch and time on the practice tee before the 1:15 p.m. shotgun start. The fierce but friendly competition concluded with hors-d'oeuvres and an awards ceremony.
“Year after year, all of our players and sponsors put Adopt-A-Family first,” said CEO Matt Constantine after the event. “The weather was perfect, our committee members shared why our mission is so important to them, and there was a continued focus on what we’re doing to help families. It was great to see returning friends and to meet new friends who have a sincere interest in the housing challenges we’re seeing all over Palm Beach County. A huge thank you to everyone.” The Better Ball Golf Tournament was made possible through the hard work and dedication of Golf Committee members Frank Bresnan, Sean Bresnan, Joe Carron, Tom Frankel, Ned Grace, Joe LaRocca, Jr., Gary Pohrer, Jeff Preston, and Will Ryan. A leading champion for in-crisis households with minor children, Adopt-A-Family manages a 19-unit emergency shelter, operates 112 supportive housing units, runs a robust eviction prevention program, and offers educational programming for students who have experienced homelessness. Last year, Adopt-A-Family worked with 1,216 families and ended or prevented episodes of homelessness for 766 families and their 1,531 children. For the eighteenth consecutive year, Adopt-A-Family has earned Charity Navigator's top rating of Four Stars, a distinction achieved by less than 1% of nonprofits nationwide.
