(PRESS RELEASE)_(West Palm Beach, FL – June 9, 2020) Friends of the Mounts Botanical Garden today announced that after being closed for nearly three months, Mounts Botanical Garden will reopen to the public on Tuesday, June 16 at 10 am. “We are thrilled to welcome friends and visitors back to Palm Beach County’s oldest and largest botanical garden,” says Curator Director Rochelle Wolberg. “Our 14-acre tropical oasis offers 25 stunning display gardens showcasing 2,000 species of plants, and is conveniently located just minutes away from downtown West Palm Beach.” In compliance with county, state and public health department recommendations during the current COVID-19 pandemic, Mounts Botanical Garden will implement Phase 1 of their Reopening Plan, which includes new Policies and Guidelines. Visitors are strongly encouraged to visit www.Mounts.org/Reopening to review these prior to their Garden visit. Mounts Botanical will be open 10 am to 3 pm, Tuesdays through Fridays during the month of June, with the hope of being open on weekends starting next month. The Garden will remain closed on Mondays going forward. Entrance will be limited to no more than 100 people at a time, and social distancing will be required throughout the garden. Admission to Mounts has been reduced to $10 (general); $5 (children 5-12), and free for members. The Mounts nursery will re-open on June 16, but the Garden’s gift shop will remain closed this month. “We continue to monitor the situation closely and are prepared to make decisions based on current needs, as well as in response to changing conditions,” says Wolberg. “For example, all picnic tables have been removed.” Two family-friendly and ecology-conscious exhibitions are still in place:
