New grass at Anchorage Park About 200,000 square feet of sod is being planted in Anchorage Park south of the playground in the low-lying "bowl" area, and in the bark park for small dogs. The Village paid $68,000 for the new grass, and sprinkler systems have been improved to make sure the grass is properly irrigated. Earlier this year, the Village planted new sod at the baseball field in the northeast corner of the park. That grass is looking great now, and soon the improved "bowl" area will too! From Communications Manager Ed Cunningham, Village of North Palm Beach:
"Today is the 62nd anniversary of the incorporation of the Village of North Palm Beach as an official Florida city. We're celebrating this week by looking at key moments in Village history, such as in 1915, when the first recorded sale of the land here occurred. Albert Sawyer Jr. sold the area that is now the Village and Lake Park for $1,140 to Barton Peck. Was it a good deal? Happy birthday, North Palm Beach!
