(Press Release) Boca Raton, FL (August 28, 2025) – Local businesses gathered more than 19,000 meals for local families during July through Boca Helping Hands (BHH) Second Annual Corporate Challenge Hunger Games. The challenge brought in 22,879 pounds of food (each pound equates to at least one meal) with seven local businesses vying for the title of 2025 Champion and the bragging rights to “Raise the Belt” in victory by getting their staff members to donate food. “Demand for our services remained steady over the summer, but with many of our donors away for the season, we experience a significant decline in the amount of food we collect,” said Bill Harper, Senior Director of Operations at Boca Helping Hands. “That’s why we organize the Corporate Challenge—to score a takedown on hunger.” The Corporate Challenge Bantamweight (50 employees or fewer) winner was SouthState Bank. The Middleweight (51 to 100 employees) winner was Woolbright Development. The Heavyweight (101 or more employees) winner was ADMA Biologics. Christophe Chagnard and Kinan Azmeh (Press Release) (August 26, 2025)— Commissioned by Harvey and Virginia Kimmel, patrons of the South Florida-based chamber orchestra The Symphonia, the new concerto EBENUS: Concerto for Clarinet will receive its world premiere this January in Boca Raton. Co-composed by Grammy-winning Syrian clarinetist and composer Kinan Azmeh (based in New York City) and acclaimed French conductor and composer Christophe Chagnard (Paris-based), the work represents a rare collaboration between two internationally celebrated artists/composers. The title, EBENUS, refers to the ebony wood traditionally used to make clarinets, a resource now under threat. Through this symbolism, the piece underscores how climate change reaches even into music, reminding us that the loss of natural materials could one day silence instruments themselves. The premiere will be performed Jan. 24–25, 2026 at The Studio at Mizner Park, alongside Dvořák’s New World Symphony, Avery Sommers(Photo Credit: Clare Coco) (Press Release) (August 27, 2025) Fans of South Florida’s Cabaret Queen AVERY SOMMERS now have several opportunities to catch her spectacular one-woman-concert SHOWSTOPPERS, one will be her glittery return to Broadway next month, and the other is closer to home.
