Sept. 14, 2022 (Jupiter, Fla.) — Paris Ballet and Dance is pleased to announce its 2022-2023 calendar of performances. The thrilling season will feature a variety of dazzling dance shows, including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and so much more.


“Paris Ballet and Dance’s annual productions give our talented dancers the opportunity to perform timeless classics and new works,” said Jean-Hugues Feray, the school’s Founder and Director. “This season offers something exciting for everyone—from ballet lovers to those new to the world of dance. I am proud of the hard work that our dedicated students put into their craft, and I can’t wait for our audience to see how talented they are.”

Paris Ballet presents The Nutcracker: Nov. 19 and 20, 2022
Just in time for the holidays, Paris Ballet and Dance will bring the spellbinding magic of The Nutcracker to the 750-seat Eissey Campus Theatre! Join Clara on a magical journey from her dark, quiet living room to the bright and fantastic Land of the Sweets. Set to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score, the full-length production will feature thrilling choreography by the school’s founder and director Jean-Hugues Feray (a former principal dancer with many international companies, including Ballet Florida and National Ballet de Marseille). The performance will showcase dozens of talented young dancers ages 3 to 18, plus international guest artists.

The Nutcracker takes place Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022 (2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on both dates) at the Eissey Campus Theatre (11051 Campus Drive, Palm Beach Gardens).

Ferocious Love:
A Black Man’s Journey to Manhood

Ferocious Love is a spoken word-theatre experience that puts a whole new spin on the urban male coming of age story circa the late 1980s. Ferocious Love demystifies the strong black single mother who is often deified in the black community and the scary street hustlin’ uncle who is so often demonized and glorified for all the wrong reasons. These two characters are in a tug of war for the life of the central character, Junie, who is “gasping for guidance” in search of his manhood beyond Ma’s well-intentioned “Emotional Incest” and his Uncle Rueben’s “Ideologies’. The issues of class, dysfunctional families, and the ferocity of a mother’s love figure greatly into this journey for manhood in a post-Civil Rights/Black Power America.

A Christmas Comedy

Since the inaugural tour in 1991, generous hosts have opened their homes, beautifully decorated for the holidays, to eager visitors from all around South Florida. Two pandemic years have intervened since the 26th home tour in 2019.

Tatiana Lewicki, a longtime resident of Flamingo Park, is chairperson of the 2022 tour.

In addition to insights into several private homes in one of West Palm Beach’s premier historic districts, guests will enjoy savory bites and festive spirits at each stop, provided by top local restaurants.

“We couldn’t wait to host this spectacular home tour again,” said Lewicki. “Flamingo Park prides itself on preserving the natural beauty and historic significance of our neighborhood, and this holiday event really showcases the extraordinary effort our homeowners put into doing that.”

The Holiday Historic Home Tour is the largest fundraising event for the historic West Palm Beach neighborhood nonprofit.

The popular event will be held from 9 am to 2 pm in Buildings 6-10 on the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach. Both admission and parking are FREE.
 
At this year’s Tropical Fruit Tree & Edible Plant Sale, vendors from all over the state will offer a wide variety of delightful and delicious fruit trees, including Avocado, Banana, Barbados Cherry, Black Sapote, Canistel Citrus, Dragon Fruit, Fig, Guava, Grumichama, Jackfruit, Jaboticaba, Longan, Lychee, Macadamia, Mamey Sapote, Mango, Miracle Fruit, Mulberry, Papaya, Peach, Persimmon, Soursop, Sugar Apple, Star Apple, Tamarind, herbs and spices, plus specially formulated fertilizer, and more.
 
Fresh honey from the Palm Beach County Beekeepers Association will also be available for purchase, promises group president Kevin Easton.
