Armory Art Center Revitalizes Historic Grounds

(Press Release) May 28, 2026 (West Palm Beach, Fla.) —  The Armory Art Center is growing new partnerships—starting with a first-ever garden project on its own West Palm Beach property in historic Flamingo Park.

Recently, the Armory partnered with the Oleander Garden Club of the Palm Beaches and nearby Flamingo Park residents to revitalize the Armory’s gardens, filling them with native Florida plants.​

“This collaboration establishes a lasting partnership that will enhance the beauty of the Armory’s grounds,” said Jill Brown, CEO. “Thanks to our advisory council member Jeff Koons, who connected us to the Oleander Garden Club, the hands-on efforts of the volunteers, and the Gentleman of the Garden’s generous contribution, we now have a more welcoming space for our community to enjoy.”

The Oleander Garden Club of the Palm Beaches focuses on civic beautification, gardening, and the conservation of natural resources. Founded in 1928, the Club supports projects that impact children ages 6-18 and promote the use of native plants in gardens and landscapes.

Members of the Oleander Garden Club serving on the Armory Art Center project committee include Debbie Allenbach, Marjorie Moore, Carolyn Reikenis, Janet Stein, Carol Stender, Becky Walton, and Pat Welch.

Volunteers from the Flamingo Park neighborhood are Diane Bradley, Lois Clemente, Sherry Derrevere, Suzette Green, Tanya Lewicki, and Carolyn Reikenis.
