(Press Release) BOYNTON BEACH, FL — South Florida PBS (WPBT, WXEL, and the Health Channel) invites families to celebrate neighborliness and kindness at Be My Neighbor Day with PNC Grow Up Great®, taking place Saturday, Feb. 14, at the St. Lucie County Morningside Branch Library. This free, family-friendly event, inspired by Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, the beloved PBS KIDS series from Fred Rogers Productions, aims to encourage local volunteerism and foster family engagement and community development. The celebration kicks off with a special meet-and-greet with Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat, giving children the opportunity to take photos and interact with their favorite PBS KIDS characters. Following the meet-and-greet, Miss Penny from KidVision Pre-K will welcome families for a special story time in celebration of kindness and friendship.
After story time, families can enjoy hands-on activities, including creating bookmarks to share with new library members and designing “Love Cards” for parents, caregivers, or friends. Children will also have another chance to meet Daniel Tiger and Katerina, explore educational resources, participate in a neighborly activity, and take home a Daniel Tiger book along with other fun giveaways. Be My Neighbor Day is made possible with support from PNC Foundation, through PNC Grow Up Great®, PNC’s signature philanthropic initiative focused on early childhood education, and presented in partnership with Fred Rogers Productions.
