Designed in partnership with America250, the national, nonpartisan organization established by Congress, the 10-coach train is wrapped with tributes to key moments throughout American history, including George Washington crossing the Delaware, Lincoln's Gettysburg address, Ellis Island immigration, the Wright Brothers and the moon landing. “America’s 250th anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the moments that have shaped our nation and the people who continue to move it forward,” said Jen Condon, Executive Vice President at America250 in a press release. “Brightline’s Freedom Express offers a compelling way to share that history with communities across Florida, and we’re proud to partner with them to commemorate this milestone.” In a reception following the Freedom Express's arrival in Miami from Orlando, attended by local heroes, community leaders and transportation advocates, Patrick Goddard, CEO of Brightline Florida, spoke about the significance of the occasion: "This is really an historic day for the State of Florida and for the entire country," he said. "And I can speak on behalf of each Brightline teammate when I say we're very, very proud to be a part of this moment." Commenting on the images depicted on the train, Goddard said, "These are not just dates in a textbook. These are the fabrics and the moments that define our progress as a nation, and we're very proud to put them on display." "By piecing these images on the most advanced passenger rail system in the United States, we're connecting the triumphs of our past to the innovation of our future," he added. "Train travel has played such an important role in our nation's history -- I wonder if our forefathers ever envisioned such a day would arrive." The Freedom Express will be in operation for the next six months. Additionally, Brightline will partner with other organizations marking America’s 250th, including HistoryMiami, which will offer guests the opportunity to see the original Bill of Rights.
