(Press Release) SOUTH FLORIDA (July 16, 2024) —National Tequila Day is coming up on Wednesday, July 24 and many of South Florida’s top restaurants will celebrate the day with refreshing cocktails to honor the agave spirit. National Tequila Day celebrates the popular liquor known for its inclusion in delicious cocktails like margaritas, palomas, tequila sours, ranch waters and more. Tequila has been around for centuries, with the first large-scale distillery established in the early 1600s in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico. Since then, the alcohol has been booming, but tequila distilleries have a strict set of rules to abide by to ensure the authenticity and flavor of each bottle. For example, the drink must be made in one of five authorized locations in Mexico: Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacan, Nayarit, or Tamaulipas, made using the correct ingredients, and aged for the proper amount of time. With the careful curation of each drop, tequila is certainly something to celebrate.
City Oyster and Sushi Bar Famed for its fresh seafood, City Oyster also rolls out an impressive list of cocktail pairings, like the Tequila Basil Smash ($13.50), loaded with tequila, basil, and citrus juices.
