![]() By GERRY BARKER North Palm Beach Life Who done it? I haven't a Clue. But in "Clue: Live on Stage," which opened at the Kravis Center Tuesday night, the audience has so much fun following this whodunit romp, you really won't care who did what to whom. Based on the 1985 "Clue" movie, and the Hasbro board game, which originated in England in 1949, "Clue" provides 90 minutes of uninterrupted laughs and slapstick humor, aided by a great scenic design by Lee Savage, costumes by Jen Caprio, lighting design by Ryan O'Gara and sound design by Jeff Human. To set the mood, you can even purchase special "Whodunit" cocktails prior to the show.
For anyone who plays the game, you know the characters by heart, and they are perfectly cast in the stage version. It begins in 1954 when six strangers get an invitation to spooky Boddy Manor --"a mansion of epic proportions and terrifying secrets in New England." Each are given a pseudonym by the butler, Wadsworth: "Colonel Mustard", "Mrs. White", "Mrs. Peacock", "Mr. Green", "Professor Plum", and "Miss Scarlet". When they find out they are all being blackmailed by Mr. Boddy, the real mayhem begins. Special shoutouts to actors Jeff Skowron (Wadsworth) and John Shartzer ("Mr. Green"), who deliver tour de force performances with their comedic choreography. Get your tickets now if you want to help solve the mystery. "Clue: Live on Stage" is at the Kravis Center through April 19. Comments are closed.
