Spady Elementary School in Delray Beach. The Betty Harman Warner MMUN Reading & Emerging Leaders Center will serve students in the school’s Montessori and Model United Nations programs and is made possible through a gift from the Betty Harman Warner Reading & Emerging Leaders Fund, a donor-advised fund at the Community Foundation. Betty Harman Warner’s children, including Will and Cheryl Harman of Delray Beach, established the center in her honor. Betty’s deep connection to S.D. Spady Elementary began in the late 1960s when she introduced her pioneering remedial reading program to the school—a program that positively impacted generations of students.
The event was attended by Cheryl & Will Harman; Rona Tata, Principal, S.D. Spady Elementary; Michael J. Burke, Superintendent, School District of Palm Beach County; Edwin Ferguson, District 7 Board Member, School District of Palm Beach County; Karen Brill, District 3 Board Member, School District of Palm Beach County; Mary Katherine (MK) Morales, Vice President for Philanthropic Services, Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties; Daryl Houston, Vice President for Community Impact, Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties; Chief Darrell K. Hunter, Delray Beach Police Department; and many more. S.D. Spady students spoke and performed during the event. Comments are closed.
