(PRESS RELEASE)_Boca Raton, October 4, 2023 — PJ Library® in South Palm Beach County hosted a lively Grandparents' Day event on Sunday, September 10, 2023. The event, held in Zinman Hall at the Jewish Federation Campus, welcomed a full house of families who came together to learn how to make challah and celebrate the special bond between generations. Led by Chef Iris Dahoah of Lalush, the event brought families together, as they learned the art of making a round challah specific for the holidays. But it was the incredible fun and energy of grandparents and children baking together that truly stole the show. The event also featured a special performance by Laura Lenes, a regular PJ Library song leader for our Grandparent virtual programming, who led the audience in singing and dancing, creating a joyful atmosphere. As an added bonus, each family left with a special keepsake—a photo magnet featuring their smiling faces. In addition, families contributed to an apples and honey theme with food donations for the Jacobson Family Food Pantry at Jewish Family Services.
"We are thrilled to have had such a successful Grandparents' Day event," said Elana Ostroff, director of PJ Library® in South Palm Beach County. "It was incredible to witness the interactions between grandparents and children. This event not only encouraged L’dor V’dor, the connecting of generations, but also allowed us to make a positive impact in our community through our food drive."
