Foundation Hosting 'Family Wealth' Event

(September 23, 2026) – The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties will host the next installment of its Partnering for Good: Deep Dives for Professional Advisors series, “Family Wealth: A Hard Look at the ‘Soft’ Issues” on Wednesday, November 4, 2026 at the Center for Philanthropy at 700 South Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach.

Financial advisors are often trained to lead with performance, products and planning strategies. Yet some of the most consequential issues facing families of wealth are deeply personal: How much should children inherit, and when? How much should they know about the family’s wealth? Should inheritances be equal or equitable? How can families navigate prenuptial agreements, succession, governance and philanthropy without damaging relationships?

The program will provide advisors with a practical framework for becoming trusted thought partners to client families — helping them navigate not only the technical aspects of wealth planning, but also the family dynamics and values that can shape decisions across generations.

Participants will learn how to help clients:

• Navigate decisions about how much wealth to transfer to the next generation, when to transfer it and how much to disclose
• Understand and apply the equal-versus-equitable debate in estate and succession planning
• Recognize the family dynamics that influence communication, governance and wealth transfer
• Approach prenuptial agreement conversations in ways that help preserve family harmony
• Build effective family governance structures and productive multigenerational family meetings
• Use family philanthropy as a strategic tool for values-based wealth transfer
