Foundation Hosts Golf Tournament

(Press Release) (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) – The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County (EFPBC) hosted the 5th Annual Bill Malone FORE Our Schools Golf Tournament, presented by the Moss Foundation, on April 24 at the PGA National Resort. With incredible community support, the sold-out tournament soared past fundraising goals, raising more than $500,000 for public education initiatives, programs, classroom grants and essential school supplies for Title I schools across the School District of Palm Beach County.

Bill Malone’s legacy as a dedicated public servant and passionate advocate for public education remains deeply embedded in the School District of Palm Beach County’s mission to “Educate, Affirm and Inspire.” During his tenure as Chief Operating Officer, Malone played a pivotal role in the renovation and modernization of numerous schools, helping to create environments that foster dignity, encourage learning and prepare students for the future.
 
“This tournament proves what’s possible when a community comes together with a shared commitment to education,” said James Gavrilos. “Every dollar raised helps open doors to opportunity—empowering our teachers and ensuring every child in Palm Beach County has the resources they need to succeed. It’s incredibly moving to see so many champions for public education rally behind this mission and create a lasting impact.”
 
Recognized as one of the largest fundraising golf tournaments in Palm Beach County, this year’s sold-out event reached record-breaking participation, featuring 105 corporate sponsors and 88 foursomes, totaling 352 golfers. Golfers and supporters enjoyed a full day of fun, including a helicopter golf ball drop in partnership with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, golf ball launches, a live auction and raffle prizes.
 
On the Champion Course, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office took first place honors. On the Palmer Course, Gilbane Building Company and Lotspeich Company of Florida, Inc. tied for the top spot, and Storagecraft secured first place on the Fazio Course.

Founded in 1984, the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County serves as a vital link between the county’s public schools and the community. The Foundation awards grants, supports innovative programs and scholarships, and provides necessary school supplies and resources through Red Apple Supplies, its signature program. With more than 100 initiatives, the Foundation helps close achievement gaps, prepare students for postsecondary success, and create measurable, positive change for over 100,000 students.
