(Palm Beach Gardens, FL) – Golfers were swinging into action at the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County’s 2024 Bill Malone FORE Our Schools Golf Tournament, named after the late Palm Beach County superintendent, Bill Malone. The tournament was held recently at PGA National Golf Course and proceeds benefited the Education Foundation’s programs, grants and the distribution of school supplies to the highest needs Title 1 schools throughout Palm Beach County. Exceeding expectations, the tournament surpassed its fundraising goal, raising over $300,000 in support of high-quality public education within the School District of Palm Beach County. This achievement was made possible with the support of presenting sponsor, The Moss Foundation, along with 50 corporate sponsors, 28 foursome sponsors, three in-kind beverage sponsors, 34 volunteers and 14 tee sign sponsors. Additionally, numerous raffle items generously donated by local businesses added to the event's success.
"We are profoundly grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of the Bill Malone FORE Our Schools Golf Tournament," said James Gavrilos, President and CEO of the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County. "The Foundation plays a crucial role in championing public education and ensuring our students have access to the resources they need. The support of our sponsors, volunteers and community members truly makes a difference in Palm Beach County." The Zaharion's Flooring team secured the top spot on the Champions Course, followed by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office in second place and Leo A Daly in third. On the Palmer Course, Hedrick Brothers Construction claimed first place, with A Cut Above Landscape & Irrigation coming in second and Fastenal securing third place. “We are so grateful to everyone who came out to support the Bill Malone FORE Our Schools Golf Tournament,” said Joseph Sanches, School District of Palm Beach County's Chief Operating Officer. “The Foundation is truly invaluable to the District. They champion public education and help place the best resources in the hands of our students.
