Her Second Chance Holds Luncheon Fundraiser

(Press Release) BOCA RATON, FL — April 3, 2026 — The South Florida nonprofit Her Second Chance recently held a springtime luncheon fundraiser, celebrating and honoring women in recovery from substance abuse in Palm Beach County. Supported by honorary chairs Marta Batmasian and Zoe Lanham, the event exceeded expectations in generating support for Her Second Chance’s mission of empowering women in recovery through paid employment, skill-building, and long-term career pathways.

The sold-out event was held on March 26, 2026, at The Addison, beginning with mocktails in the courtyard beneath its iconic banyan trees. Guests then enjoyed an intimate luncheon experience, thoughtfully styled with lavender and spring-green accents, featuring delicate orchid centerpieces and whimsical dessert towers.

Throughout the event, attendees had the opportunity to purchase handmade goods created by women participating in Her Second Chance’s transitional employment program, directly supporting their path to independence. The afternoon was further enriched by a testimonial from a participant in the program whose life has been transformed, offering a meaningful and personal connection to its mission. 

“As someone who has the privilege of hosting so many meaningful events at The Addison, this one was especially powerful,” said Lanham. “It was an honor to support an event that celebrates resilience while directly impacting the future of so many women in our own community.”

The luncheon also featured the presentation of the inaugural Her Second Chance Award, recognizing leaders who have demonstrated a deep commitment to serving others. This year’s award was presented to Nancy Pulte Rickard, president and board chair of the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation in Boca Raton.
“Nancy’s leadership reflects a deep belief that every life has value,” said Chris Malfitano, president of the Board of Directors of Her Second Chance. “She has provided Her Second Chance not only with resources, but presence—not only support, but partnership.”

“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from Her Second Chance,” said Rickard. “Supporting individuals on their journey to recovery and independence is essential. When we invest in people, we strengthen entire communities.”
