By GERRY BARKER North Palm Beach Life Photos by Gerry Barker The holiday season has officially kicked off at Mounts Botanical Garden with the debut of "ILUMINA: A Tropical Garden Lantern Festival" featuring more than 500 handcrafted silk lanterns illuminating the night. As you walk the garden's pathways, you'll find everything from orchids, chameleons and flamingos to dinosaurs and mythical creatures. The centerpiece is a 195-foot, smoke-breathing dragon rising from the garden's lake, its dazzling and vibrant colors reflected in the water below. Included are several photo ops for families and kids, plus vendors selling hot chocolate, pastries and more. It's guaranteed to delight your senses and provide plenty of content for social media sharing. "ILUMINA" is at Mounts Garden through Jan. 11, 2026, Wednesdays to Sundays. Timed tickets available at 5:30 pm, 7:00 pm, 8:30 pm. Mounts Members: $16 adults, $2 under 18; Non-Members: $26 adults, $10 under 18; Groups of 12 or more: $22 For more information call 561-233-1757 or visit https://www.mounts.org/ilumina/.
