LECTURES AND CONVERSATIONS ArtSpeaks | Illuminating Emotion: Light and Color in Architectural Spaces – 6 p.m. Friday, July 11. Jason Bemis, Art and Science Lecturer at the American Information Center for Color and Environment, and an expert on the profound effects of light and color on human psychology and emotions, will explore how our built environments influence mood, behavior, and well-being, shedding light on the intersection of neuroscience, design, and architecture. Cost: Museum admission/Members free. SPECIAL PERFORMANCES Hollywood Gems: A Summer Film Series – 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20. She Done Him Wrong, 1933. Directed by Lowell Sherman. Starring Mae West and Cary Grant. Cost: Museum admission/Members free. Jazz Brunch with Russ Spiegel – 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (noon-3 p.m. music), July 20, The Restaurant. Enjoy jazz, mimosas, and brunch at The Restaurant. Each month will feature a different local jazz artist. Reservations: norton.org/TheRestaurant. Family Autism Art Workshop – 1-2 p.m. (K-Grade 6) and 3-4 p.m. (Grades 7-12) Sunday, July 13. This program is for children with autism and their families. Interactive time in the galleries, an art workshop, free admission to the Museum, and autism supports are included. All participating staff members are trained to lead programs for people with autism. Space is limited; online registration required. This is a free program. ART CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS Photo Zine Workshop led by Teen Collective – 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 18. Join us for a creative evening just for teens! Explore the Museum’s galleries, enjoy a guided tour of select exhibitions, and dive into a hands-on zine-making workshop led by teens. All skill levels welcome, and materials are provided. To celebrate Veiled Presence: The Hidden Mothers and Sara VanDerBeek, join Christine Ellinghouse to explore tintype photography methods. Participants will create tintypes from historical photographs as well as from their own personal photos. All skill levels welcome. Ages 16+. Space is limited; online registration required. Cost: $45 per person/$30 Members SPECIAL EVENTS Summer Studio Tours – 10 a.m.-noon through Aug. 1 (Every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday except 2-4). Campers will practice their observation skills in an interactive tour through the Museum’s galleries and Sculpture Garden, then use their creativity and imagination through a hands-on art activity in the studio. Art projects are for all skill levels and abilities. Space is limited; online registration required. Limited to 100 campers per day, ages 5-18. For more information, email [email protected].
