Record has been deeply involved in the Florida art scene throughout his career, enriching the community through his dedication to visual art. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this pivotal role. Born and raised in Florida, Record pursued his studies in studio art at the University of South Florida, followed by a Master of Fine Arts degree from the prestigious San Francisco Art Institute. While teaching art history and studio art courses at various colleges, he co-founded the artist cooperative gallery QUAID, based in Tampa, FL, where he curated exhibitions from 2014 - 2023. He served as the Studio Programs Coordinator for the Tampa Museum of Art from 2018 to 2022 and then as Curator at the Museum of Florida Art & Culture from 2022-24, where he curated exhibitions of contemporary artists and collectors from Florida. Record is also a painter, and his work has been exhibited internationally at galleries and museums in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Kanazawa, Vancouver, and elsewhere. Lighthouse ArtCenter is a 501c(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring, engaging, and connecting the community through the visual arts. It was founded in 1964 by a group of eight artists and Christopher D. Norton, the son of Ralph Norton, who founded the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach. The ArtCenter has grown into a dynamic institution. It is a three-building campus comprising multiple galleries, eight studios, and an ArtShop, providing a nurturing environment for artistic exploration and growth. Supported by memberships, tuition, grants, and donations, Lighthouse ArtCenter serves over 20,000 visitors, 3000 students, 45 faculty members, and 400 summer art campers and conducts comprehensive outreach programs to benefit underserved populations.
