(Press Release) Delray Beach, FL (June 30, 2026)--Plastridge Insurance’s Chairman Emeritus Tom Lynch was honored at the annual Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA) conference recently with the organization’s most prestigious recognition, the Mitchell Stallings Lifetime Achievement Award.  With more than 50 years in the insurance Mr. Lynch took the helm of Plastridge Insurance as CEO in 1974. 
 
The Mitchell Stallings Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor given by the FAIA and is awarded to an individual who has displayed a lifetime achievement on behalf of Independent Agents.  The award is not an annual award but is only bestowed when there is meritorious achievement that distinguishes a lifetime of service.

For decades, Tom Lynch has been a strong advocate for the independent agency system, and the vital role independent insurance agents play in protecting consumers and businesses. Through his leadership at Plastridge, he has built a culture rooted in professionalism, trust, and long-term relationships. He has been a long-time participant in FAIA, working to promote a stable and competitive insurance marketplace for Florida consumers.
 
“I so admired past recipients of this award, which makes this honor all the more significant,” Tom Lynch said.
 
Tom was appointed to and served on the Citizens Board of Governors in 2009 and reappointed in 2011. Throughout his career, Tom has navigated the often challenging nature of Florida’s insurance marketplace, including the near collapse of the Florida property insurance market following Hurricane Andrew and again during the devastating 2004–2005 hurricane seasons, working with FAIA and the remaining carriers committed to the Florida market to help ensure that homeowners, businesses, and community associations could continue to obtain necessary coverage.
 
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Tom has made lasting contributions to Palm Beach County. He served as Mayor of Delray Beach from 1990 to 1996, chairman of the Palm Beach County School Board and as Commissioner, Mayor, and Vice Mayor of the Village of Golf, Florida.
 
Tom has served as Chairman of the School Board of Palm Beach County, Chairman of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, Chairman of the Boards of Trustees for both the Delray Beach and Boca Raton Chambers of Commerce, and as a board member of the Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County, among many others.
