The Jake Walden Band (Press Release) September 23, 2025 (Jupiter, FL) - The Maltz Jupiter Theatre proudly introduces A Night on the Island, a brand-new concert series designed to spotlight emerging musical talent and expand the Theatre’s growing commitment to diverse programming. Running October 3–12, 2025, the series features six distinct performances from young, genre-spanning artists poised to make their mark on South Florida’s music scene. The launch of A Night on the Island builds on a banner year for the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, which was recently honored with the Palm Beach Community’s Choice Award for “Best Live Music Venue.” As the Theatre continues to expand its offerings beyond traditional plays and musicals, this new series affirms its mission to provide meaningful, high-quality entertainment in all its forms.
Following an extensive talent search held in October 2024, in collaboration with 97.9 WRMF and the wildly popular KVJ Show, with Virginia Sinicki serving as a celebrity judge, six exceptional acts were chosen from dozens of submissions. “These six acts are incredibly talented and we can’t wait to share their musicianship with audiences. Some people may be hearing their original music for the first time, some may be fans, but I’m confident that each and every artist will bring their authentic sound and leave a lasting memory,” says Producing Artistic Director Andrew Kato. Sisters: A Celebration of Motown and Soul kicks off the series (October 3 at 7:30pm) with a dynamic tribute to the timeless music of Motown’s legendary female vocalists. Get ready to feel the groove, relive the magic, and let this mother-daughter trio take you on a ride through the best eras of music. From dazzling harmonies to show- stopping solos, this trio captures the spirit and joy of Motown, with songs by The Supremes, Gladys Knight, and Aretha Franklin. Next, The Lubben Brothers: Roadtrip Tour (October 4 at 8:00pm). This original musical experience blends folk, Americana, and storytelling about family and Midwestern culture. The Lubben triplets, originally from Iowa, share childhood tales, brotherly banter, and over 14 instruments in a heartfelt musical journey. After, join us for A Night of Folk Pop with Brit Drozda (October 5 at 7:30pm), a singer-songwriter, and Palm Beach County native, known for her poetic lyrics, catchy melodies, and evocative voice. Spend an intimate night of pop and folk music with local, singer-songwriter, Brit Drozda, whose distinctive and powerful voice will enrapture you with her own renditions of her musical influences from Norah Jones, Brandi Carlile, Bonnie Raitt, Coldplay and more. Picking up the following week, we will bring you Blues is Back: The Jake Walden Band (October 9 at 7:30pm)– Gritty, soulful blues from a powerhouse South Florida ensemble with a loyal local following. The Jake Walden Band is a high energy rock/blues band based out of South Florida who’ll deliver an unparalleled evening of entertainment with original music and unique spins on covers from favorite artists such as Tom Petty, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and more. Then, Given to Fly: The Pearl Jam Experience (October 10 at 7:30pm)– A high-energy tribute to the legendary grunge band that defined a generation. Voted #1 Tribute Band in the Capital Region of New York, Given to Fly covers Pearl Jam’s iconic 90’s hits. Lead singer Bob Donahue’s voice is strikingly like Eddie Vedder’s with its rich tone, occasional growl, and storytelling quality that nails the grungy Pearl Jam sound. Dare to Be Present: Riley Burke will finalize the series (October 12 at 7:30pm), a rising singer-songwriter whose deeply personal music explores vulnerability, resilience, and identity. Burke, a Jupiter native, will dazzle you with her soulful songwriting and captivating stage presence. Featuring songs from her debut record, Reconfiguration, Burke’s melodies are full of dream- like ambiance and will surely offer you a night of pure musical magic.
