New Group Takes Over Operations at Bar

That is the legacy Three Amigos Hospitality is stepping in to protect. When Cleve Mash and fellow principals learned the current operators had chosen not to renew their lease, they saw an opportunity to keep the historic haunt in familiar hands.

Beginning September 1, the South Florida-based restaurant group will become the next steward of Ralph’s with plans to retain the name, ethos, and community spirit that have made the Center Street bar a North Palm Beach County institution for more than 70 years.
 
“Ralph’s captures a bygone era of Jupiter,” Mash says. “It’s the kind of place that feels like going back in time, and that’s exactly what we want to lean into.”
 
Located at 113 Center Street, Ralph’s traces its roots back to 1948, when it began as Ralph’s Fishing Camp near the Loxahatchee River before eventually becoming the gathering place locals know today. It has had only a handful of operators since, a rarity that speaks to its staying power. Its story began with Ralph and Blanche Crooks, who ran the original fishing camp before the bar became a town fixture. Ronnie and Anne Marie took over in 2008, with recent ownership tied to Tommy Capasso.
 
“We didn’t want the building to fall into the wrong hands or go to someone who doesn’t recognize the importance or value in it,” Mash explains. “We love what Ralph’s brings to the community.”
 
Mash, who co-founded Three Amigos Hospitality in October 2023 with friends and restaurant veterans Scott Frielich and Angelo Abbenante before later bringing on executive chef Tim Nickey, says the plan is not to reinvent Ralph’s, but to gradually address practical needs, such as updating the bathrooms and HVAC system, while preserving elements that have made the bar endure.
 
“We’re not going to change Ralph’s,” Mash says. “We want to embrace the nostalgia and the history. You can’t duplicate places like this. They’re one of a kind.”
 
Over the years, Ralph’s has become the kind of dive bar people tell stories about. Its appeal is not polished or manufactured. It is built on standing-room-only lore, Sharpie-covered dollar bills, cold drinks, bike nights, live music, holiday traditions, and a come-as-you-are spirit that has long drawn regulars, fishermen, bikers, boaters, golfers, and visitors looking for a piece of Old Florida.
 
That preservation-minded approach is familiar territory for the group, whose portfolio includes Papichulo Tacos, with locations in Jupiter and Royal Palm Beach, and Blackbird Modern Asian, which opened in Jupiter and later expanded to Naples in June 2025.
 
The transition is expected to be seamless. Ralph’s is currently operating and will continue to do so when the keys are handed over.
 
Co-owner Scott Frielich says Ralph’s will remain a separate concept within the group, with Mash leading the vision.
 
“Ralph’s is part of the Three Amigos family, but this has been especially close to Cleve’s heart,” Frielich says. “He understands the history and emotion tied to this venue, and our goal is to support that vision while keeping Ralph’s true to what has always made it special.”
