(Press Release) West Palm Beach, Fla. – Nonprofits First proudly celebrated a season of leadership development this summer, honoring graduates from its three premier professional development programs: Launching Leaders, Rising Leaders, and Advancing Leaders. Together, these programs build a stronger talent pipeline for Palm Beach County's nonprofit sector by preparing individuals at every stage of their leadership journey. As nonprofits across the community face increasing demand for services, workforce transitions, and growing organizational complexity, leadership development has never been more critical. Through these three programs, Nonprofits First is investing in the sector's future by equipping students, emerging professionals, and experienced nonprofit managers with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to lead effectively and create lasting community impact.
"Strong nonprofits require strong leaders," said Trudy Crowetz, President & CEO of Nonprofits First. "Whether someone is exploring a nonprofit career for the first time, stepping into a leadership role, or preparing for executive-level responsibilities, our programs provide the tools, mentorship, and real-world experience necessary to strengthen organizations and communities. We are incredibly proud of this year's graduates and excited to see the impact they will continue to make throughout Palm Beach County." Launching Leaders: Inspiring the Next Generation The newest of Nonprofits First's leadership initiatives, Launching Leaders, connects college and graduate students with meaningful paid internships at local nonprofit organizations. Developed to address both nonprofit capacity needs and workforce development opportunities, the program provides hands-on experience while exposing students to careers in the nonprofit sector. Throughout the summer, participants completed impactful projects for nonprofit organizations while engaging in leadership development sessions focused on strengths-based leadership, ethical decision-making, community collaboration, and professional networking. Rising Leaders: Developing Emerging Professionals For more than two decades, Rising Leaders has served as Palm Beach County's premier leadership development program for emerging nonprofit professionals. The eight-month program helps participants strengthen critical leadership competencies, including communication, emotional intelligence, team leadership, conflict resolution, project management, and organizational change. Participants also complete service-learning projects that help local nonprofits solve real-world challenges while gaining valuable leadership experience. Advancing Leaders: Preparing Senior-Level Changemakers Designed for professionals moving into senior management and executive leadership roles, Advancing Leaders is an intensive six-month program that equips participants with advanced leadership and management competencies. Through expert-led sessions, peer learning, and practical application, participants build expertise in strategic planning, governance, financial management, human resources, fundraising, innovation, and organizational leadership. The program prepares nonprofit leaders to confidently navigate complex challenges and drive sustainable impact within their organizations. Together, these three programs represent a comprehensive leadership continuum that supports nonprofit professionals from student internships to executive leadership preparation. By investing in people, Nonprofits First is helping ensure that local organizations have the leadership capacity necessary to meet the community's most pressing needs today and for generations to come.
