Credit: Norton Art Museum (Press Release) West Palm Beach, Florida (July 22, 2025) – There’s no better opportunity to see the Norton Museum of Art for the first time than during a community day. It’s also an opportunity for Museum stalwarts to share the joy of guests experiencing the Norton for the first time. They’ll get that chance during the free Art Around the World Community Day, scheduled for 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, August 16. Art Around the World is your passport to a day of rediscovery, creativity, and connection for curious kids, inspired adults, and everyone in between. “I love community days because they showcase a sampling of all that the Norton Museum of Art offers year-round,” said Ghislain d’Humières, the Museum’s Kenneth C. Griffin Director and CEO. “It’s exciting for me to see new faces.” Docents and the Museum team will host Spotlight Tours of the Collection in English and Spanish. Stop by the classrooms and create fun one-of-a-kind artworks with the Norton’s teaching artists. Adults and teens can sign up in advance for an immersive gesture drawing session with a skilled teaching artist and live model, designed for those with prior drawing experience. Space is limited and online registration is required. There also will be live music and storytelling. Visit the Ruth and Carl Shapiro Great Hall, where a guitarist and harpist will perform in the afternoon. Little ones can settle in for a storytelling session and visitors of all ages can step behind the scenes at the Norton through the eyes of a longtime insider who’s been part of the Museum since 1978. Visit norton.org after July 25 for a full schedule. The community day comes as the Museum continues Summer at the Norton, during which Palm Beach County residents will receive free admission on Saturdays from May 24 to August 30. Additionally, city of West Palm Beach residents receive free admission on Saturdays year-round. Art After Dark will continue with music, dance, tours, and classes from 5 – 10 p.m. each Friday. Visitors can raise a glass each month during the Norton’s popular Jazz Brunch, which continues August 17, and September 21 — in The Restaurant at the Norton, with live entertainment and drink and food specials. Select Sunday afternoons, the Museum will screen films, including The Pink Panther (August 17). The galleries are filled with exhibitions curated to entertain, educate, and inspire:
Free Saturday admission for Palm Beach County residents during Summer at the Norton was made possible by the generosity of the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Foundation. For information and updates on Summer at the Norton, call (561) 832-5196 or visit www.norton.org. Comments are closed.
