Tim May (Press Release) Riviera Beach, FL (April 29, 2026) – The Taras Oceanographic Foundation and the City of Riviera Beach are once again celebrating World Ocean Day with an evening of original, marine-inspired art and live music during the annual Ocean of Notes Concert and Art Exhibit. The free event takes place on Friday, June 5, from 6 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. at the Riviera Beach Marina Event Center. “Research shows the close link between music, science and learning,” says Taras Oceanographic Foundation CEO, Dr. Stefan Harzen. “Music is directly related to our conservation research; dolphins whistle, whales sing, and a myriad of living things as well as currents and tides perform a symphony that reverberates through the marine environment. Recognizing that sharing this acoustic world greatly facilitates educating the public about dolphin and ocean conservation, we created the Ocean of Notes Concert Series.” Visitors will immerse themselves in the event center gallery which will be filled with beautiful, original ocean-inspired art from celebrated, local fine artists Michael Arsenault, Jerilyn Brown, Ellen Deroxtro, Ron Garrett, Rochelle Irons, Cynthia Oakes, and Stephanie Stinch.
This year’s concert features the Grammy-nominated instrumentalist Tim May, top national mandolin player, Steve Smith and international composer and world music violinist, Mark Russell. Guests will also discover more about the non-profit Taras Oceanographic Foundation, including their ongoing, global ocean conservation efforts and their 20+ year study of the dolphin population inhabiting in our local coastal waters (Palm Beach Dolphin Project). The Ocean of Notes Concert & Art Exhibit is free to the public thanks to generous support from the following: Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, Riviera Beach CRA, City of Riviera Beach, Marriott Resort Palm Beach Singer island, Forest Development, Silver Beach Road Partners, FPL, The Port of Palm Beach, FHONE, The Palm Beaches, Wolfe Guitars, Blue Dolphin Research and Consulting, and Palm Beach Jupiter Dolphin Tours. The Ocean of Notes Concert & Art Exhibit takes place on June 5 from 6 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. at the Riviera Beach Marina Event Center located at 190 E 13th St, Riviera Beach, FL 33404.
