![]() (Press Release) West Palm Beach, FL, April 22, 2025 –Promise Fund, a South Florida based non-profit dedicated to increasing survivorship from breast and cervical cancer, has announced that Mami Kisner has been appointed to the organization’s Board of Directors. Kisner has served as Senior Advisor to Promise Fund’s board since its inception and is Chairperson for the organization’s annual Bridge Lighting initiative. A passionate advocate for equity and access, Kisner is the First Lady of West Palm Beach’s historic Tabernacle Baptist Church, which is 132 years old, and is a member of the Selection Panel for The International Trumpet Awards Foundation. She was the first Woman of Color on the Board of Trustees since inception 55 years ago, at Palm Beach Atlantic University, a former county commission appointed board member of the Tourist Development Board of the Palm Beaches and longest serving woman of color on the board. The Governor of the State of Florida appointed Mami to the Faith Based and Community Initiatives Advisory Council.
“Mami brings a wealth of ‘boots on the ground’ community involvement and dynamic leadership prowess to our Board,” said Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, co-founder of Promise Fund. “We are lucky to have her join us, and we can’t wait to work with her to help change the lives of women in our community.” Promise Fund reaches tens of thousands of women in Palm Beach, Broward and Martin Counties who are uninsured, under insured or have limited or no access to healthcare. The organization, founded in 2018 by Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, is dedicated to increasing survivorship from cervical cancer and breast cancer by providing guided support and access to screenings, as well as early detection, treatment, and beyond. To date, Promise Fund has reached more than 66,000 individuals through outreach and education, and has impacted the lives of over 16,000 women through access to screenings, diagnostics, and care and Promise Fund has helped 247 women who were diagnosed with cancer navigate getting treatment.
