Senior Skip Day participants (Press Release) Lantana, FL – It was Senior Skip Day at Phil Foster Park in Riviera Beach on Friday, Oct 24, 2025 with residents from The Carlisle Palm Beach, Wellington Bay and Lisbet Memory Care coming today to catch some sun, clean the beach and enjoy the water. Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation and Palm Beach County Ocean Rescue prepared the area with Mobi Mats and had extra beach wheelchairs on hand and were there to assist almost 40 residents as they arrived at Senior Skip Day. Attendees danced to a summer playlist, enjoyed a picnic style lunch, cornhole, and were assisted into the water. Extra pool noodles, floatation devices and Palm Beach County Ocean Rescue were nearby at all times for extra support.
“Many of the residents haven’t been to the beach in years. There was a lot of excitement leading up to today and it's really nice to see the smiles on their faces and the feeling of freedom being in the water brings, “ said Jay D Mikosch, Executive Director of Wellington Bay and Lisbet Memory Care. Many of the beachgoers participated in the beach cleanup. Gloves, supplies, buckets and pickers were provided by Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful. “Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful is proud to support the residents of The Carlisle Palm Beach during Senior Beach Day. It’s a wonderful reminder that caring for our environment also means caring for ourselves. When our seniors come together to protect our beaches, they’re not only keeping our community beautiful, but also staying active, healthy, and engaged in making a positive impact,” said Linda Moreno, Executive Director of Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful. Transportation was provided for the residents so all they had to worry about was which bathing suit to wear and which song they wanted to hear next! “Thank you, Phil Foster Park, for allowing us to put this event on for our residents,” said Lisa Davis, Campus Executive Director at Carlisle Palm Beach. “Staying active is one of the best things we can do for our long-term mobility, and it was inspiring to see our residents embracing that and giving back to our community.” Newly reimagined in 2025 by Liberty Senior Living, The Carlisle Palm Beach is a modern coastal community offering independent and assisted living in an elevated, resort-style environment. The Carlisle Palm Beach combines contemporary residences with personalized hospitality, wellness-focused amenities, expert-level care, and a lifestyle centered on ease and social connection.
