(Press Release) (West Palm Beach, FL) – More than 1,000 participants laced up their sneakers for the St. Jude Walk Palm Beach, raising more than $200,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. The annual event, presented by VoLo Foundation, took place recently in Downtown West Palm Beach in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The event provided an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, so they can focus on helping their child live. This year’s St. Jude Walk was nationally presented by Window World, CBIZ and Kia. “The energy at this year’s St. Jude Walk was inspiring,” said VoLo Foundation trustees Thais Lopez Vogel and David S. Vogel. “To see the community unite in support of families facing childhood cancer reminds us what can be accomplished when we rally together with purpose. We are honored to stand alongside St. Jude in bringing hope and healing to so many children and their loved ones.”
Attendees enjoyed food, family entertainment, the kids’ dash and an impactful presentation from a previous St. Jude patient. Participants earned various fundraising incentives, ranging from t-shirts to iPads, based on their fundraising achievements. In addition to VoLo Foundation, Florida Power & Light and The Mullings Group were Champion Sponsors, and First Horizon Bank was a For the Kids Sponsor. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital continues to lead the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Fundraising events like the St. Jude Walk unite individuals across the country to support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude: Finding cures. Saving children. ® Everywhere.
