(Press Release) West Palm Beach, FL -- The Historical Society of Palm Beach County proudly announces the opening of its newest grand exhibit, Sunshine Cinema: Florida in Film, debuting Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 6-8pm at the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum. This exciting exhibition celebrates the magic, glamour, and cultural impact of Florida’s role in film—from early Hollywood classics to contemporary productions that capture the Sunshine State’s spirit. Through vibrant displays, rare film memorabilia, interactive installations, and archival treasures, Sunshine Cinema immerses visitors in the stories, stars, and scenes that have made Florida a cinematic icon. From tropical noir and coastal comedies to Palm Beach elegance on screen, the exhibit reveals how film has both shaped and reflected Florida’s evolving identity. “We are thrilled to bring this dynamic exhibition to life,” said Jeremy Johnson, President and CEO of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County. “Florida has been a backdrop for storytelling and creativity for over a century. Sunshine Cinema celebrates not just the movies filmed here, but the people, places, and legacy behind them.” The Historical Society gratefully acknowledges the generous support of its sponsors, whose partnership makes this cultural milestone possible: The Palm Beaches, The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority, Related Ross, The Colony Hotel, The Cognizant Classic, The Hedges Inn, The Royal Poinciana Plaza, Palm Beach Illustrated, Kilo Content, Top of Mind Palm Beach, Sciame Homes, Sciame Construction, Capehart Photography, Paul Labrecque Salon & Skincare Spa, CIBC, Pioneer Linens, Florida Crystals and St. John.
