Fenelon Place ElevatorConvivium Urban FarmsteadOur tour of Dubuque included a stop at the Convivium Urban farmstead, whose mission is to "improve life through food." We visited their demonstration and community gardens and sampled fresh vegetables right off the vines. It proved a delicious learning experience, p;lus they are doing great work for the communities and people they serve., Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical GardensAnother stop of our tour of Dubuque was the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. This 56-acre preserve opened in 1980. Featuring more than 60 different gardens, admission is free and most amazing, it is staffed and maintained entirely by 300 community volunteers. It started when Dubuque resident "Mac” Marshall donated 51 acres of land to the city for a park. Take a look: Comments are closed.
