(Press Release) MIAMI, April 17, 2026 — Seatrade Cruise Global 2026 concluded at the Miami Beach Convention Center, bringing together cruise line executives, suppliers, and industry stakeholders from around the world for four days of collaboration, innovation, and forward-looking dialogue. Held from April 13–16, 2026 as the industry’s leading annual gathering, the event once again served as a platform for advancing key conversations shaping the future of cruise travel, with over 12,500 attendees from 125 countries, including over 85 cruise line brands, representing the global cruise ecosystem.

“Seatrade Cruise Global raised the bar: 2026 is officially the biggest event we’ve ever had in our 41-year history. It really speaks to the energy, resilience, and momentum we’re seeing across the global cruise community,” said Chiara Giorgi, Global Brand & Event Director, Seatrade Cruise. “We’re so proud of what came together this year. Yes, the scale was incredible, but even more exciting were the connections made, the conversations sparked, and the innovation across the show floor. It was a true team effort with our partners and the entire Seatrade community—and the result was an experience that really captures where this industry is headed.”

A FUTURE-FOCUSED CONFERENCE PROGRAMHeld under the theme “Beyond the Horizon: Leveraging Cruising’s Strength and Scale to Drive Innovation,” the 2026 conference program explored the technologies, trends, and strategies driving the industry forward.

Across 92 sessions and 283 speakers, attendees engaged in discussions spanning digital transformation, sustainability, evolving guest expectations, and operational innovation. The exhibition floor featured more than 650 exhibitors across sectors including ship design, technology, hospitality, and onboard services, offering a comprehensive look at the innovations redefining the cruise experience.

WORLD CRUISE TOURISM SUMMIT
The 2026 program opened with the World Cruise Tourism Summit, setting the tone for the week ahead with a full day dedicated to the evolving role of destinations in shaping the future of cruise and global travel. The day’s keynote conversation, moderated by Anne Kalosh, Editor at Seatrade Cruise News, featured Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer at Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, who emphasised the growing importance of destination strategy as a core driver of demand and differentiation.

INDUSTRY INNOVATION ON DISPLAYThe “State of the Global Cruise Industry” keynote session, sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and moderated by CNBC correspondent Contessa Brewer, offered the views of industry leaders Bud Darr, President & Chief Executive Officer at Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA); John Chidsey, President & Chief Executive Officer at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.; Jason Liberty, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer at Royal Caribbean Group; Josh Weinstein, Chief Executive Officer at Carnival Corporation & plc; and Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman at MSC Group’s Cruise Division.

The panel discussed the industry's key issues in 2026 and beyond including opportunities and challenges, supply and demand, and reaching new markets, as well as thoughts on infrastructure investments, including how private destinations are expanding guest experiences, and an update on important sustainability topics.

DYNAMIC PROGRAMMING AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTSpecialty programming throughout the week added depth to the event experience, including Tech Day, The Retail Days, and the Entertainment Showcase, each spotlighting key sectors shaping the onboard guest experience. Sustainability remained a key focus throughout the event, with initiatives including partnerships aimed at supporting ocean health and reducing environmental impact.

TECH DAY
Throughout the program, AI emerged as a central theme, with a session moderated on Wednesday by Jacob Passy of The Wall Street Journal bringing together leaders from MSC Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Holland America Line and Amazon Alexa to examine both the potential and the limitations of AI in cruise operations. The discussion focused on the importance of data foundations, system integration and the lessons learned from early pilots, reinforcing that meaningful impact will depend on how effectively AI is embedded into existing operations.

Bringing together cruise executives, technology leaders and digital innovators, the day’s sessions explored how cruise is moving beyond adoption — using its scale and operational demands to shape how technologies are deployed in real-world conditions across the travel sector.

THE WELLNESS OASIS
New elements also proved popular among attendees, such as The Wellness Oasis, which offered a multi-sensory sanctuary designed to explore the future of wellness at sea through immersive programming, innovation and connection.

The Wellness Oasis featured six immersive zones designed to spotlight wellness innovation across the cruise guest journey: The Reset Pod (Mindfulness & Mental Clarity), The Mat (Fitness & Functional Vitality), The Lab (Recovery & Optimisation), The Sip Bar (Functional Beverages & Nutrition), Future of Beauty (Treatments & Tech Innovation)and Culture Corner (Global Wellness Rituals).

NETWORKING WITH THE CRUISE COMMUNITY

Beyond the conference and exhibition, attendees connected through a robust lineup of networking opportunities, from the official Welcome Party to curated meetings and informal gatherings designed to foster collaboration and partnership.

NEW SEATRADE CRUISE EVENTS LEADERSHIP IN 2027
As announced in March, 2026 marks Chiara Giorgi’s last Seatrade Cruise Global in her role as Global Brand & Event Director at Seatrade Cruise. Seatrade Cruise’s Senior Event Manager, Emma Bond, will take on the role of event director, responsible for the day-to-day management and success of the Seatrade Cruise global events portfolio.

“As we celebrate this record-breaking year, it’s a bittersweet moment, but I have the utmost confidence in the success of my team and the conference as a whole moving forward under the leadership of Emma Bond,” said Giorgi.

Seatrade Cruise Global will return to the Miami Beach Convention Center from April 5-8, 2027
