North Palm Beach Life For frequent travelers, there are a few items that you don't leave home without. Personal IDs or passports. Durable luggage. Medicines. And in this age of portable technology, you never want to be without a good charging device. Home or away, most of us live with charging cables, wireless pads, docking stations and power adapters in every room, as well as our cars. That's because our battery-powered devices have to be constantly fed. Our greatest fear is seeing our smartphone screen go dark. One of the latest chargers that came to my attention is the EZQuest UltraSlim Wall Charger. With the same thickness as an iPhone, it features two USB-C ports that can deliver a total of 70W of charging power. Slim but mighty, it uses Gallium Nitride (GaN II) to rapidly power up two devices at the same time. It has retractable prongs (another plus), and plugs neatly into an outlet. Since the charging ports are located on the bottom, it keeps the cables more orderly and confined. Placed against a wall, it's so slim you hardly know it's there. To test it, I plugged in my iPhone 14 Pro, and in a little over 20 minutes, it gave me an almost 50% battery boost. I'm not a hardcore techie, but according to the manufacturer, it incorporates "industry-leading over-current, voltage, temperature and short-circuit protection," as well as "digital-analog hybrid technology to monitor output power in real time." They also tout its universal device compatibility. All I know is that it's earned a spot in my carry-on, or shirt pocket, the next time I go on a trip. You can order it and find out more on Amazon.
