The Brightline Tasting Train: Fun, Food and Fine Wines
By GERRY and PAMELA BARKER North Palm Beach Life MIAMI_ The October edition of Brightline's Tasting Train left the West Palm station Friday, Oct. 5, much to the delight of a near sellout crowd. And why not? The combination of upscale travel, fine wine, good food, music and a party in the heart of downtown Miami is a can't-miss good time. The featured wines on this trip were from Marchesi Antinori, the 10th oldest company in the world that has only been making wine since 1385 -- 26 generations ago. Company representatives were on hand to let us sample seven different vintages, including two on the trip down. Once in Miami, the party got into full swing, literally, as a DJ and trombone player entertained while guests mingled and sampled the various wines along with food at tasting stations. Waiters also came by every few minutes with additional offerings, like stuffed mushrooms and chocolate mousse. |
The Tasting Train concept debuted in September, and was a sold-out success. Judging by the turnout at the second, it's a good bet Brightline will make this a regular part of their service offerings. The next tasting Train is set for December.
