Take An All-Day Journey Along the California Coastline

North Palm Beach Life Published April, 2020. They say if you only take one train ride, take this one -- Amtrak's Coast Starlight. It begins at Union Station in Los Angeles and ends in Seattle. Several years ago, we took the entire trip, but this time around, we're only going as far as Emeryville, just outside San Francisco. The journey will take us almost 12 hours, and encompass some of the most beautiful scenery California has to offer. Join us!

That's Pam as we take the long walk in Los Angeles Union Station to board the Coast Starlight and begin our journey.
It's a bright and sunny California day.
There are miles and miles of ocean views along the way.

This train features an Observation Car, and it's
definitely where you want to be. 
A stop in Santa Barbara, where we can stretch our legs.

We head to the dining car for lunch. Everybody has a window seat! On the right, another stop to get
off and stretch. |

As the sun sets, we say goodbye to the coastline and settle in for the last leg of our trip.
It's almost dark when we get to Salinas.

Emeryville -- time for us to get off and grab a Lyft into San Francisco.
