Located on Prosperity Farms Rd., between Donald Ross and PGA, is a hidden gem for anyone who loves nature and hiking. Frenchman's Forest Natural Area is described by the Palm Beach County website as:
"The wet, low-lying areas of this 172-acre natural area were once part of the headwaters of Lake Worth Creek, a meandering blackwater creek that flowed north to the Loxahatachee River. Over 500 animal and 200 plant species call this site home including great horned owl, red-bellied woodpecker, gopher tortoise, red-shouldered hawk, fish, wading bird, and manatee."
There are numerous hiking trails, each color-coded, and a paved path as you enter that will give you a good introduction to what it offers. Join us as we hike the Blazing Star Trail and venture down to the Boardwalk:
