Take a seat - order a drink - enjoy the sunset

North Palm Beach Life/ [email protected] ST. PETERSBURG -- Looking for the perfect place to relax, unwind and admire a surround view of the Gulf? Head for Rooftop 360 at the Hotel Zamora. The first new hotel built on St. Pete Beach in over 20 years, and recently rated the second-best hotel in Florida by Conde Nast Traveler readers, we made it a "must see" on a recent trip to the area. Located down the street from the famous "Big Pink" hotel - the Don Se Sar -- it boasts classic Mediterranean styling inside and out. A popular destination, especially in late afternoon and evening, is Rooftop 360, the bar and lounge that, true to its name, occupies the hotel's roof. An array of chairs, couches and upscale cabanas invite you to join your friends for a favorite beverage and a ring-side seat to the sun setting over the Gulf waters. Or maybe you prefer the twinkling lights of a night-time city and Bay bridge view. It's all good. Our bartender, Kristin Hancock, recommended we try the 360 Peach Fuzz -- a mix of peach vodka, champagne and lemon juice. It's the perfect complement to the main attraction: That spectacular view. You can also order food from the Rooftop 360 menu, including the Z Burger and Yucca Croquets. The hotel also had some breaking news -- days before it had just been acquired by the Kimpton Hotel group, one of our favorite places to stay (see this story about their Vero Beach location). We'll be back to check out the rest of the hotel, starting with another visit to Rooftop 360.
