Living large at 'mystery musician's' Manalapan estate

When you get an invite to an evening of champagne, hors d'oeuvres and music (with a yacht thrown in for good measure), held at a $19.5 million Manalapan mansion, you naturally accept. The invite came from Braman Motorcars, who partnered with the Fite Group and HMY Yachts to host the festivities at 1920 S. Ocean Blvd.
The nine-bedroom, eight-bathroom, nearly 10,000-square-foot “Modern Mediterranean Island Transitional” home is on the market, owned by an "unnamed musician." While he may be unnamed, it's been widely reported the owner is the "Piano Man" himself, Billy Joel. You can read more about Joel and his Palm Beach real estate interests here, and here.
All we can say is Joel certainly has good taste. With views of both the IntraCoastal and the Atlantic, and scrumptiously appointed, including a kitchen to die for, it's a dream location for a party -- or anything else. Invited guests congregated around the pool or walked down to the private dock to tour the $3 million Princess S65 from HMY Yachts. After touring it, one guest said he "hasn't been in hotels that nice."
Guitarist Tony Cruz provided the perfect musical accompaniment for a perfect Florida evening -- slightly cool, with a full moon peeking through the clouds overhead.
Relaxing with a flute of champagne on one of the chaise lounges that look over the IntraCoastal Waterway, we thought just maybe Joel might want to change his mind about letting it go.
Here are some party snaps below. And to Club Braman and the Fite Group: Well done!
