Pam Puts On Her Chef's Hat at Sea
By GERRY BARKER
North Palm Beach Life Published May 9, 2019 One thing you never expect to do on a cruise is cook, right? Wrong. Thanks to a partnership between MSC and the popular TV show, "MasterChef," guests have a chance to showcase their culinary prowess while cruising the oceans blue. To participate, you have to answer 10 multiple choice questions. The top six with the most correct answers pair off in three teams of two. Before we started, Pam leaned over and had one of those "ESP" moments, saying "If I fill out these questions, I'm going on stage." The questions ranged from easy to not sure to wild guess. Out of the 200-plus in attendance, there were two perfect scores, two with nine right, and one who got eight right. The one who got eight right? Pam! Female intuition wins again. Her partner was Joe, who got seven right. After being equipped with an apron and a hat, the contestants took their place on stage and waited until the contents of their "mystery box" were revealed. One thing to note: There is no real "cooking" involved. Rather than fire up a grill, contestants combined cold food into an entree and a dessert, so it was more about presentation than tasting the result. Each team had 10 minutes to complete their dishes, and the clock starts ....NOW. A camera tracks their every move
while the clock ticks ... no pressure! |
