Almost as legendary as the red lighthouse you can see from the bar across the Jupiter Inlet, Square Grouper has been a favorite local watering hole since it opened in January, 2003. Nothing fancy or pretentious here -- just good food, drinks and music in a fabulous location. That's a certain recipe for success.
On a recent visit we opted for the special of the day, fish and chips. The golden crunchy, bite-sized grouper was perfectly prepared, as were the fries.
While you're there, take a walk on the dock of Castaways Marina, or just enjoy the whimsical signs posted about. On the Square Grouper website you'll find a fascinating history of the Jupiter Inlet area, where the famous and the infamous have gathered for 130 years.
Note they are serious about catering to adults: No one under 21, no pets (except service animals) , no children.
A second Square Grouper location is coming soon to the Ft. Pierce Inlet. No doubt a lot of people there are just waiting to get the party started.
