After we departed Koblenz, we spent the afternoon cruising the Rhine River, where we saw the vineyards, charming towns and hilltop castles described above. The vineyards which dot the hillsides are amazing: Just how do they maintain the grapes on such inclines? Over hundreds of years, they learned.
