(PRESS RELEASE)_Travel experts analyzed price points for ice cream, soft drinks and beer by the beach, weather data and public ratings for 35 popular beaches on US territory to reveal the best beaches to spend this summer.
This year is already predicted to be hotter than 2022 and it can get particularly uncomfortable when cities experience temperatures of over 90 degrees. While the air con is a nice-to-have house appliance, it might be a good idea to plan a trip to the beach. Cool drinks and ice cream are a must on a day at the beach. These basic beach needs do not need to cost a fortune if visitors and travelers head towards the destinations in the following ranking. The 2023 best beaches Driftwood Beach in Jekyll Island, Georgia While Driftwood Beach has already been named one of the best beaches in the U.S., this study awards the location for the most affordable beach to spend time this summer. A regular serving of ice cream is only $1.00 on average and refreshing drinks at the restaurants nearby are only $2.48 for a soft drink and $5.00 for a beer. Driftwood Beach holds a distinct charm which sets it apart from traditional beach destinations. While the shore of Jekyll Island boasts soft white sands and inviting waters, the beach has become popular for a very unconventional reason – the abundance of driftwood. Coligny Beach, Hilton Head, South Carolina Situated on Hilton Head Island, Coligny Beach can be considered to be one of the most attractive coastal destinations. Coligny Beach Park serves as a gateway to Coligny Beach, providing an array of top-notch amenities for visitors. The study reveals that while ice creams are rather pricey with around $4.10 per portion, cold drinks at restaurants come at a better deal with soft drinks around $1.86 and a pint of beer is $2.25. Beach rentals like sunbeds and umbrellas are available seasonally. There are showers available to rinse off the sand, and Wi-Fi connectivity is also widely available. Playa de Isla Verde, San Juan, Puerto Rico The popular tropical Playa de Isla Verde in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico ranks third in the list of the best beaches to escape the heat this summer. Visitors benefit from low price amenities like soft drinks for less than $2.00 and sunshine guarantee with 81°F on average. With its golden sands, crystal-clear waters, the Playa de Isla Verde captivates visitors with its natural beauty. The beach is buzzed with energy as locals and tourists come together to enjoy beachfront activities, from exhilarating water sports like jet skiing and paddleboarding to lively games of beach volleyball. Ice Cream by the beach: From cheapest to most expensive Whether it's a sundae cup or a scoop of creamy Italian gelato, ice cream is a must on a hot day at the beach. The most affordable ice cream is offered at Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island in Georgia with a regular serving of ice cream only costing around $1.00. The average deal for ice cream at US beaches is $4.20. The most expensive beaches when it comes to ice cream are Coney Island in New York City and the Lighthouse Beach at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. A regular size serving of ice cream is around $5.50 here. Cannon Beach in Oregon is the best beaches at the Pacific coast Atlantic coast beaches rank exceptionally high in this study even though many other Pacific coast beaches have been researched. The best beach to cool off this summer on the west coast of the US is the beach of Cannon Beach in Oregon. The beach itself is a sight to behold with its wide expanse of sandy shores, framed by stunning coastal landscapes and dramatic sea stacks. Cannon Beach is also home to the famous Haystack Rock, an iconic landmark that stands majestically in the ocean. This monolithic rock formation serves as a captivating backdrop and provides a unique setting for enjoying ice cream which is around $2.96. Other top beaches at the Pacific's coast are Coronado Beach in San Diego, California, Alki Beach Park in Seattle, Washington, and Carmel Beach at Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. The most expensive beach Florida’s Smathers Beach in Key West comes out as the most expensive beach to visit. At burning hot 84°F on average in the summer, beach goers have to spend around $4.00 for a single serving of ice cream. Ice cold beverages in a restaurant near the beach range from $3.77 for a soda to $7.00 for a local brand beer. Reviews online describe Smathers Beach as beautiful to watch on the one hand but also smelly due to frequent algal bloom on the other hand. The beach received a rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars on Google and is therefore one of the least popular beaches in the study. Only Lambert's Cove Beach in Martha's Vineyard, MA, received a poorer rating with 4.1 stars.
