(Press Release) NORFOLK, Va., Feb. 11, 2025 – As the popularity of cruising continues to grow, Carnival Cruise Line is bringing more fun to Norfolk by launching year-round cruising with Carnival Sunshine’s inaugural sailing today. The new year-round deployment transforms Norfolk’s Half Moone Cruise Center from a seasonal port to a permanent cruise hub that will sail 150,000 guests annually – the highest volume in the city’s history. That's a question we heard over and over during our European travels in late January. For example, at Pompeii, our guide told us we had it all to ourselves, versus "a river of people" during the summer months. That's the beauty of off-season travel, and what better way to experience it than a cruise?

To that end, we took a flight to Venice to board Windstar's Star Legend for its nine-day "Winter Italy and Dalmatian Coast" cruise, with planned stops in Zadar and Dubrovnik, Croatia, Messina in Sicily, Naples and Rome.

(Press Release) This morning, Feb. 8, MSC Seascape arrived at the new MSC Miami Cruise Terminal, marking an exciting milestone as the first ship to call at the state-of-the-art facility. The new terminal is the largest in the world, capable of accommodating three ships at once, and set to revolutionize the cruising experience for up to 36,000 guests each day. The project is a partnership between the Cruise Division of MSC Group, PortMiami and Miami-Dade County. The iconic structure was designed by Arquitectonica and built by Fincantieri Infrastructure.

MSC Cruises will have a total of four ships sailing from the new terminal throughout 2025, alongside ships from MSC Group’s luxury brand, Explora Journeys.

Underscoring MSC Cruises’ commitment to the U.S. and unwavering dedication to South Florida, the cruise line will launch its newest World Class ship, MSC World America, at the new terminal in April with a naming ceremony and celebratory sailing. Following the celebrations, MSC World America will continue to make use of the facility, offering 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries sailing from Miami.
