(PRESS RELEASE)_Did you ever wonder if your ancestors traveled from Europe to America with Albert Einstein, or maybe they were on the same ship as Eddie Van Halen when he came to America on Ryndam in the early sixties? Now there’s an easy way to find out. Holland America Line is commemorating its 150th anniversary in April 2023 – making it one of the longest-operating travel companies in the world. As part of the celebrations, we are excited to share an incredible resource that provides a personal look at the cruise line’s role in immigration stories and the close relationship our company has with the Netherlands. The CBG | Center for Family History teamed up with Rotterdam City Archives and spent 3 years digitizing Holland America Line's passenger logs from 1900 to 1969. This database is now available online, and can be found here. It includes approximately 150,000 passenger logs and documents, which you can easily access at home. We encourage everyone to search the database to find any family members who may have sailed with Holland America Line during that time period. There are also a few famous names included in the passenger logs and some incredible immigration stories. More information about the archive site and easy-to-follow instructions can be found on the Holland America Line blog. Comments are closed.
