(Press Release)_MIAMI (June 8, 2017) – In a cruise industry first, Carnival Cruise Line has launched a convenient new pay-over-time program that allows guests to pay for their cruise in three monthly installments.
Carnival EasyPay is designed as a truly hassle-free vacation payment option as it allows guests’ cruise payments to be automatically deducted from the credit card on file and applied to their current balance interest-free over a three-month period. Guests simply make their initial cruise deposit and then the balance of their cruise is charged in three equal payments which are taken out automatically on the same designated day for three consecutive months. Guests can either register for the program at carnival.com or via the line’s call centers. Travel agents can also sign up for Carnival EasyPay to process payments on behalf of their clients. (Press Release)_MIAMI, June 8, 2017 – In celebration of National Best Friends Day on June 8, sister ships Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest made a rare appearance together in Barcelona, meeting for the first time since September 2013 in Venice. In honor of this unique event, a number of perfect pairing activities fit for the best of friends took place for guests onboard, as well as social contests for those tuning in from afar.
Favored by travelers looking for rich cultural immersions and new experiences, Azamara is known for its signature Destination Immersion programming, which provides unique voyages and curated shore excursions. The up-market cruise line rarely repeats an itinerary, which made this meeting of its two ships distinctive as Azamara Quest and Azamara Journey are seldom found in the same region of the world, let alone the same port. “Our Destination Immersion promise means that our boutique hotels at sea often are oceans apart as they chart our exceptional, unique itineraries,” said Larry Pimentel, President & CEO of Azamara Club Cruises. “The reuniting of Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest after almost 4 years is a significant reminder that, while we deliver unmatched experiences on land across the globe, we always collectively come together to up the ante with new and exciting offerings for our guests.” Best Friends Day is being celebrated onboard with a number of unique guest experiences and offers. A Chef’s Table raffle will take place, awarding at random a lucky stateroom winner on each ship a dinner for two. In the spirit of honoring pairs, the corresponding stateroom on the sister ship will also be declared a winner. As the ships sailed together out of the Barcelona port, the momentous occasion was marked with a sail-away party on the pool decks of both the Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest. Azamara Journey’s Cruise Director Eric DeGray led a fleet wide toast as guests onboard both ships simultaneously cheered in celebration, followed by a night of dancing under the stars. Azamara fans joining the celebration from afar can partake in the fun by visiting their photo gallery, or following @AzamaraVoyages, @AzamaraJourney, @AzamaraQuest and #SistersMeet on Twitter. Now through June 14, travelers looking to plan their next AzAmazing adventure with their best travel companion can head to AzamaraClubCruises.com/sistersmeet and vote for how they would spend a day in Barcelona, receiving a promotion code offering $300-$500 onboard credit* to apply towards their next voyage. Azamara Journey kicked off its 7-Night Tapas and Wine voyage with the sister ship sailing celebration and will continue on a journey through Spain and Portugal, while Azamara Quest is nearing the end of an 11-Night Mediterranean sailing which will soon disembark in France. You'll find her story here. With Michael Kors in the headlines this week, Penny gave us a favorite story about Mr. Kors.) "So, in 2005 I was doing Sweeney Todd with Patti LuPone and Michael Cerveris. Michael wore one costume throughout the show. The assistant designer had bought one pair (!!!!!) of black corduroy Michael Kors jeans at Daffy's (a discount store in NYC). With something like that I like to have more than one pair. I went to several Daffy's around the city and in NJ and could only find one more pair and (in typical actor fashion) Michael did not like them as much as his original pair and refused to wear them unless he absolutely had to. Ok, I thought, at least I have a back up. "Sure enough Michael blew out the knees of the pants and I was forced to mend and patch them. I knew I couldn't do this for very long. Daffy's was a close-out store....where items went to die ...so I knew they had no more. I decided to go to the source and see if the MK company could tell me where I might purchase these jeans. Coincidentally, I found out that MK had gotten house seats to see the show, so I asked our press person if they could give me the number of a contact in the organization. She got the number of MK's personal assistant, Cynthia. "Working up my nerve, I called her, expecting to be given the brush-off. Instead, she couldn't have been nicer. When I explained my problem and gave her the item and model numbers. She asked where I purchased them. I told her 'Daffy's' she was amused and astounded that her boss's pants ended up there. She said let me get back to me. "She called me the following day. Those jeans were four seasons old and she couldn't get any more of them. However, she told MK about it and he (HIMSELF!) offered to have some made for the show. How many did I need? Well, I was bowled over, so I ordered more than I knew I would need just to be polite. A dozen pair, I said. Ok, said Cynthia. Er uh, how much will it be, I queried? She said it would be at their cost. Thank you, thank you, thank you, says I! "At the end of that week, MK came to see the show. Cynthia called me the next day and said he was so impressed with the show and how good his jeans looked, he was putting them back into production! (By the way, he owned a beautiful Maybach that was parked in front of the theatre.....one of the most gorgeous cars I've ever seen). "A few weeks later the jeans arrived and when the bill came for the jeans, it was 000.00. I don't own anything by MK but I wish I liked his stuff more cause I'd give him tons of business just for being so nice. Many fashion designers aren't. "So whenever I hear the name, Michael Kors, I get a big smile on my face." -- Penny Davis. Azamara Club Cruises has launched its new Nights On Us promotion, which provides guests complimentary nights for voyages in 2018 -- the longer an itinerary, the more complimentary nights travelers receive.
