Two new dining additions have been announced for MiamiCentral, the downtown development featuring retail, office, residences and the Brightline train service. Della Heiman will open her first permanent location of della bowls and Parliament Espresso Bar. The two will join previously announced Monger by the Voltaggio Brothers, along with several other Miami restaurateurs. From the press release: "Serving plant-based 'healthy bowls of happy,' the original della test kitchen has delighted locals with approachable, globally-inspired quick meals made with passion and love since opening as a food truck at The Wynwood Yard last year. At Central Fare, della bowls will offer customizable dishes that brim with layers of warming grains, energizing proteins, healthy fats and vibrant vegetables. Patrons will order from house favorite bowls or create their own bowl from a thoughtful list of ingredients: a base like brown rice or quinoa, a protein, earthy veggies and an addictive sauce--all pulsating with flavor and wellness. Also catering to patrons with food allergies, della bowls will be gluten-free, processed sugar-free, dairy-free and peanut-free. "The Parliament Coffee concept will focus heavily on the role of the barista and employ truly passionate coffee enthusiasts in that position. This and future locations will use La Marzocca coffee machines imported from Florence, allowing the baristas to create the highest quality and purest expression of coffee. All coffee beans used in Parliament Coffee are sourced from Nicaragua, Brazil and Sumatra. The roast of these three beans yields a dynamic and rich flavor, with notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and apricot. This complex flavor, with its smooth finish, is the signature of the brand’s drip coffee—a bright blend with notes of spice, smoke and nuts. The Parliament Espresso, also a proprietary blend, is composed of four beans: Nicaraguan, Sumatran, Brazilian and Costa Rican. "
I remember it like it was yesterday ... Thanksgiving, 1974. Cowboys vs. Redskins. Roger Staubach gets knocked out of the game. Backup Clint Longley has to come in. Cowboys losing, 16-3. Playoff chances over with a loss. Things look bleak. And then ... Longley leads them to two touchdowns. It's 23-17 Redskins, but only 28 seconds left to play. Longley fades back and lofts a Hail Mary to number 88, Drew Pearson. Pearson gets behind the Redskins secondary .... for a 50-yard touchdown! Best Thanksgiving ever! Privacy, the 155-foot yacht owned by golfer Tiger Woods, takes on fuel Wednesday morning at North Palm Beach Marina. With a reported fuel capacity of 12,000 gallons, and marine diesel averaging around $2.25/gallon, that comes in at $27,000 for a fill-up. That would fuel our car for the next 20 years.
