(PRESS RELEASE)_Jan. 30, 2023 (WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.) —The Armory Art Center celebrated all things fashion at the opening night of Artistry, a special vintage sale that took place on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023 at the Armory Art Center's historic West Palm Beach Campus. 

More than 130 guests attended the preview party to shop for fabulous vintage items, enjoy sips and bites, mingle and see the very vintage, 101-year-old fashion icon and honorary event chair, Iris Apfel--who posed for photos and sold some stunning accessories from her personal collection.

Ballet Palm Beach dancers modeled some of the exquisite clothing, jewelry and other accessories for sale, including items from top designers like Chanel, Armani, Prada, Pucci and more—all curated by event co-chairs Lynn Feld and Linda Silpe. Linens, English silver, Wedgwood china and unique art were also available for sale. 

After the party, the general public was invited to shop the sale for just $10 a day that weekend (Jan. 19-21). Proceeds supported the Armory Art Center’s ongoing youth arts education and community outreach programs.

(PRESS RELEASE)_PALM BEACH, FL — American Humane, the country’s first national humane organization with offices in Washington, DC and Palm Beach, has deployed to Georgia to help animals in need after multiple tornadoes displaced thousands of residents and their pets. American Humane’s Rescue Team, and the organization’s 50-foot rescue truck, traveled to Spalding County on Wednesday as part of a coordinated effort with the National Animal Rescue and Sheltering Coalition (NARSC).

Working on the ground alongside Spalding County Animal Care and Control and coordinating with the Georgia Department of Agriculture and Atlanta Humane, American Humane is assisting in the recovery by helping maintain a temporary emergency shelter for rescued animals. The team is also working with local authorities and other highly trained organizations in the area to rescue animals and provide relief to locals impacted by the disaster.

“American Humane always stands ready to help animals and people during trying times, and our Rescue Team is working tirelessly to save at-risk animals impacted by these devastating tornadoes,” said American Humane President and CEO, Dr. Robin Ganzert. “Our animal first responders will help reunite people with their lost pets at a time when they need each other most. It is our duty to protect the animals with whom we share the world, and American Humane will do everything in our power to provide hope and healing to this resilient community.”

American Humane carefully monitors developing disaster situations, and works with local jurisdictions for requests for assistance, before deploying resources, including highly trained staff, volunteers, and supplies, in the most effective and efficient way possible. The heartwarming evening featured recent Pups4Patriots graduate teams, including US Air Force Veteran Mike and service dog Justice; US Air Force Veteran Diana and Sam; and US Air Force Veteran Zach and Winnie. The service dogs, who never stray from their veterans’ sides, are provided through American Humane’s Pups4Patriots initiative which finds dogs in need of forever homes and trains them to be lifesaving service dogs for veterans suffering the invisible wounds of war ,post-traumatic stress, and traumatic brain injury, at no cost to the veteran.“

We are so grateful to these brave veterans who have dedicated their lives to protecting our freedoms and are honored to be able to help them in their time of need,” said Dr. Robin Ganzert, president and CEO of American Humane. “Thanks to our generous supporters, our Pups4Patriots program is able to literally save lives at both ends of the leash.”
