Celebrate Moscow Mule Day

2/26/2019

(PRESS RELEASE)_Palm Beach County, FL – “First you take a drink, then the drink takes a drink, and then the drink takes you,” said the American novelist and bon vivant F. Scott Fitzgerald, who was probably referring to National Moscow Mule Day on Sunday, March 3.

In honor of the ginger beer-drenched day, Burger Bar in Palm Beach Gardens and City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill in West Palm Beach will be serving up a variety of delicious and creatively inventive Moscow Mules.

2/25/2019

Picture
(PRESS RELEASE)_WEST PALM BEACH - The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is seeking sweet submissions for its Baked from the Heart: WAITRESS Pie Contest. Celebrating the touring production of WAITRESS, coming to the Kravis Center March 5 – 10, the contest will be judged by T.A. Walker of WPTV’S Taste and See South Florida, with the winner announced Friday, March 1.

Pies are key ingredients to the storytelling of WAITRESS with its main character Jenna cooking creatively clever names for each tasty treat. Contest bakers are likewise invited to submit their most creative, whimsical pie recipe - the kind of recipe that expresses the entrants’ hopes, dreams, fears or frustrations. The winner’s recipe will be featured as an insert in the official WAITRESS cookbook, and win a four-pack of tickets to the show.  The winner will also be featured on the local market social channels and WAITRESS social channels. Three finalist recipes will be chosen and entertainment reporter T.A. Walker will choose the winning recipe during a taste-testing conducted on the Taste and See South Florida program. Finalists will also receive a pair of tickets to see WAITRESS.

Submissions for the WAITRESS Pie Contest will be accepted online through Wednesday, February 27, by 2 pm. For submission information and more details about the Official Rules for the Baked from the Heart: WAITRESS Pie Contest, visit: www.kravis.org/PieContest.

About WAITRESS
Brought to life by a groundbreaking all-female creative team, this irresistible new hit features original music and lyrics by 7-time Grammy® nominee Sara Bareilles ("Brave," "Love Song"), a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam) and direction by Tony Award® winner Diane Paulus (Hair, Pippin, Finding Neverland). "It's an empowering musical of the highest order!" raves the Chicago Tribune.

Inspired by Adrienne Shelly's beloved film, WAITRESS tells the story of Jenna - a waitress and expert pie maker, Jenna dreams of a way out of her small town and loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town's new doctor may offer her a chance at a fresh start, while her fellow waitresses offer their own recipes for happiness. But Jenna must summon the strength and courage to rebuild her own life.

"WAITRESS is a little slice of heaven!" says Entertainment Weekly and "a monumental contribution to Broadway!" according to Marie Claire. Don't miss this uplifting musical celebrating friendship, motherhood, and the magic of a well-made pie.

Kravis On Broadway is sponsored by Ann and Robert Fromer, and Martin and Toni Sosnoff. WAITRESS serves up delicious fun at the Kravis Center March 5 – 10. Performances run Tuesday, March 5 at 8 pm; Wednesday, March 6 at 2 pm and 8 pm; Thursday, March 7 at 8 pm; Friday, March 8 at 8 pm; Saturday, March 9 at 2 pm and 8 pm, and Sunday, March 10 at 2 pm.
