Mounts Garden Sets Art Master Class Series

Headlining the month-long series is acclaimed artist Vladislav Yeliseyev leading a special three-day hands-on workshop – Watercolor with Focus & Freedom: Mastering the Yeliseyev Method – taking place January 6 – 8, 2026.
 
Mounts highly recommends registering by December 6, as space is limited and offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
 
Renowned watercolor artist Vladislav Yeliseyev leads this dynamic three-day workshop designed to strengthen technical skills while unlocking creative expression. Using curated photographic references, participants will learn to simplify complex scenes, identify focal areas, and capture atmosphere through expressive light, color, and confident brushwork.

Community Members Invited to Adopt Classrooms

(Press Release) DELRAY BEACH, FL (November 17, 2025) — Achievement Centers for Children & Families, which has served southern Palm Beach County since 1969 with aftercare, pre-school and summer camp for underserved families, is inviting community members to make a meaningful impact this holiday season through Adopt-a-Class, Adopt-a-Program, and the annual toy drive. 
 
The organization is currently collecting toys for children ages one to eighteen. Collection boxes can be delivered to businesses and organizations throughout the community. 
 
"The holidays can be a difficult time for some Achievement Centers families who have few resources," said Stephanie Seibel, CEO of the organization. "Every year, we strive to help by collecting toys that bring joy to children who might otherwise go without."

The audience will be captivated by a breathtaking performance of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Op. 43, on Tuesday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is one of the first stops on Dichter's 80th-birthday tour. The Palm Beach Symphony Masterworks Series Concert opens with Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s colorful The Snow Maiden Suite and continues with Gabriela Lena Frank’s vibrant Elegía Andina and Manuel de Falla’s fiery The Three Cornered Hat.

'ILUMINA' Dazzles at Mounts Garden

The holiday season has officially kicked off at Mounts Botanical Garden with the debut of "ILUMINA: A Tropical Garden Lantern Festival" featuring more than 500 handcrafted silk lanterns illuminating the night.  As you walk the garden's pathways, you'll find everything from orchids, chameleons and flamingos to dinosaurs and mythical creatures.

The centerpiece is a 195-foot, smoke-breathing dragon rising from the garden's lake, its dazzling and vibrant colors reflected in the water below.

Included are several photo ops for families and kids, plus vendors selling hot chocolate, pastries and more. It's guaranteed to delight your senses and provide plenty of content for social media sharing.

"ILUMINA" is at Mounts Garden through Jan. 11, 2026, Wednesdays to Sundays. Timed tickets available at 5:30 pm, 7:00 pm, 8:30 pm. Mounts Members: $16 adults, $2 under 18; Non-Members: $26 adults, $10 under 18; Groups of 12 or more: $22

Distinguished Woman Artist’s Prize Announced

(Press Release) November 12, 2025 (Lake Worth Beach, Fla.) — The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County has named Palm Beach County artist Sharon Lee Hart as the recipient of the inaugural Distinguished Woman Artist’s Prize. The Council announced the prize to an audience of about 200 people at the opening reception of its Main Gallery exhibition, Fiber Optics, last week, presenting a giant check for $10,000 as a surprise to Hart.

The new prize, which is funded for the next five years by artist Suzi K. Edwards through the Henry L. Kimelman Foundation, champions established female artists at an inflection point in their career. In addition to developing her artistic development and achievements, Hart will have the opportunity to exhibit her works at the Cultural Council or a collaborating institutional exhibition within the next five years.
