The Mall at Wellington Green is pleased to host its annual Pink Party in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Highlights will include student performances, bra decorating, face painting and airbrush tattoos, and a lively Zumba master class (a $10 donation will benefit the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk). Participants will hear inspiring stories from survivors and thrivers and learn about early breast cancer detection and prevention from Wellington Regional Medical Center and the American Cancer Society.

OPEN FOR BUSINESS_The newest location for Berry Fresh Cafe is open for business in Palm Beach Gardens at the Oakbrook Square Shopping Mall, at the corner of US Highway 1 and PGA Blvd. Pam and I dropped in for Sunday morning breakfast. Warmly welcomed by their staff (they loved my shirt), we both ordered the "Big Breakfast." Big is the operative word. It's a lot of food, and includes coffee or, in my case, tea. The general manager, Mark, also brought us a surprise: A paper sack filled with their signature blueberry fritters, shaken with cinnamon and sugar. Yonia, our waitperson, was great. The Art of Bonsai (Class)

Bonsai means "a tree in a tray." The art of bonsai creates the illusion of age and maturity of a tree which has developed and sustained the effects of nature for many years. Students of bonsai learn to artfully trim and train a tree in a container.

These five dogs now advance to the final round of the 2023 American Humane Hero Dog Awards®. It’s a nationwide competition that searches for and recognizes America’s standout dogs in five categories. The 13th annual American Humane Hero Dog Awards® and Gala presentedby Lois Pope and the Lois Pope LIFE Foundation, will culminate with a nationally televised event broadcast on A&E on November 26 and fyi on Thanksgiving Day.
 
How did we get here? The four-legged contestants have gone through an extensive process, meeting strict standards and benchmarks along the way. Hundreds of dogs from across the country were nominated earlier this year and, from there, five semi-finalists in each of the five categories were chosen to meet the American public. And they were met with open arms and loving hearts.

The second annual site-specific showcase will feature original works and repertoire by a diverse group of eight Palm Beach County-based dance artists. Works are inspired by specific artworks and spaces at the Museum and will give the community a chance to watch inspiring, transformative choreography in an array of styles, including contemporary, ballet and hip-hop.
