Brightline Celebrating National Dog Day

(PRESS RELEASE)_​MIAMI (AUGUST 19, 2022) – Brightline, the only provider of modern, eco-friendly, intercity rail is celebrating National Dog Day, August 26, with a week of festivities for pups and their owners. The celebration kicks off on Sunday, August 21 during Brightline’s Sunday Picnic Series with a mobile pet adoption in partnership with Miami-Dade County Animal Services (Animal Services) and a contest to find Brightline’s “Chief Canine Officer.” Throughout the week, Brightline guests and their furry, four-legged friends can enjoy sweet treats at Mary Mary and receive Brightline swag at all three stations while taking fun family photos at the MiamiCentral station. 
 
Animal Services pet adoption will be located inside the MiamiCentral station on Sunday, August 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. With more than 500 pets currently available for adoption, Animal Services is asking the community to open their hearts and homes to adopt or foster pets. All adoptions include the first set of age-appropriate vaccines, microchip, deworming, and spay/neuter surgery. Brightline will give two PREMIUM train tickets to anyone who adopts a new furry family member at the event.

Also on August 21, Brightline will launch a social media contest to find its “Chief Canine Officer.” Brightline social media fans and guests are encouraged to snap a photo of their pup at the station and post on Instagram using the hashtag #BrightlineCCO. The winner will be announced on National Dog Day and receive a box of Brightline merchandise, dog treats and bragging (or barking) rights as Brightline’s first ever Chief Canine Officer.
 
Throughout the week at all three stations, Brightline will surprise its pup friends with complimentary Brightline bandanas and custom-made puppuccinos at the in-station bar Mary Mary with a purchase of a beverage. Guests passing through MiamiCentral can also pose for complimentary pet family photos before boarding the train.
 
“We are honored to partner with Animal Services to support their ongoing efforts to help pets find loving homes,” said Ali Soule, VP of community affairs for Brighltine. “We are encouraging all of South Florida to help us support Animal Services in their mission to clear the shelters by adopting a pet this month.”
 
Brightline always welcomes dogs and cats, leashed or in a crate, aboard in their stations and trains.  To travel with a furry friend, passengers must provide notice in their reservation. Pet fees may apply. Guests can read the Terms of Service to learn more about Brightline’s pet-friendly policy. ​
